2008-2009 District Governor
Often we are asked to explain what Rotarians do. I was never before able to answer this simply. Recently I heard a nice explanation: "Rotarians add value to other people’s lives". This is Rotary's greatest legacy - and it's even greater destiny.
My fellow Rotarians, let us “Make Dreams Real” together in this coming year! I feel privileged to serve as your Governor as we look ahead to new responsibilities, new challenges, and new opportunities. During 2008-2009 I urge our district’s clubs to support this year's three major areas of need: health, water, and literacy. To these I would like to add a fourth area, which I have also chosen as a motto for my year as Governor, "The Family of Rotary". Rotary is a maj or presence in my family and in many of yours. I feel that it is important to include our spouses, children, friends, and relatives in Rotary functions and projects. We will celebrate the “Family of Rotary” throughout the course of this year at various functions culminating with our District Conference at the fabulous Sky Top Resort in the Pocono Mountains.
